Arla Foods

Support for Equal Pay Analysis

Arla Foods is working to prepare for the new legal requirements resulting from the EU’s Pay Transparency Directive. Under this directive, companies must have data and processes in place so that, going forward, they can identify, explain, and address any unexplained gender pay gaps.

Junior Consult has assisted Arla Foods in its efforts to promote pay transparency. The EU’s Pay Transparency Directive is set to be implemented into Danish law in June 2026 and aims to ensure equal pay for equal work through increased transparency. Going forward, companies must disclose pay ranges in job postings and report gender pay gaps. The directive aims to enhance employees’ understanding of pay and ensure fair pay practices.

At Junior Consult, we have strong expertise in data processing and data analysis. When conducting equal pay analyses, we structure data, create an overview using dashboards, and perform regression analyses that identify the factors explaining any pay differences. At Arla Foods, we conducted the analysis and identified areas where there are significant pay differences between men and women.

Statement from Anna Petlina, Global Rewards Manager at Arla Foods Amba

“We have been working with Juniorkonsult for two months to conduct an equal pay analysis as part of our preparations for the salary adjustment process and to gain a better understanding of Arla’s position regarding the implementation of the EU’s Pay Transparency Directive.

The consultant from Juniorkonsult provided very thorough equal pay analyses—covering both base pay and total compensation. The work was well-structured, thorough, and delivered on time. At the same time, the consultant demonstrated great flexibility in responding to changing needs and input throughout the process, which was particularly valuable in such a complex analytical project.

The results were clear and easy to build on, and the conclusions were presented in a way that made them easy to understand and apply in practice. The collaboration worked really well from start to finish, with good communication, a high level of expertise, and responsiveness to our feedback.

”Overall, a very satisfactory delivery that has been of great value to us."
