Focus on the students' interests

For students, the job market can seem overwhelming, whether it comes to part-time jobs, internships, or future careers. Aarhus BSS Career & Alumni is the career center affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at Aarhus University. Every day, they help students present themselves more effectively to potential employers and find the right path after graduation. In other words, they build a bridge between the business community and the students.

One of the challenges facing Aarhus BSS Career is how to engage with students on various platforms. As in most other industries, digital initiatives are gaining ground and influencing the way we communicate and seek information. In collaboration with Junior Consult, Aarhus BSS Career therefore launched a project aimed at identifying students’ wishes and thoughts regarding the career center’s online presence.

The study was based on focus group interviews with students representing a broad range of programs and class years. Based on this input and these discussions, Junior Consult developed an analysis of the career center’s role both offline and online. This resulted in a series of recommendations that Aarhus BSS Career is continuing to work on. Some have already been implemented, while others have provided input for new projects and initiatives.
